Now that it looks like the OP has solved his problem, I want to hijack this thread as I have a similar problem.

My 99 TA 6 speed was all stock and got some water sucked up into the intake. Bent a rod, but still ran. It would idle really high, like 1200-1500. I replaced the long block, but it still wants to idle high at around 1200. Sometimes it will idle at 1500 and if I stop hard it will sometimes idle at 2000 for a few seconds. It's just all over the place. I closed off the idle hole a little and this helped drop it to around 1000, but it's still erratic.
(Covering the hole completly makes it want to surge and die)

Could the water have damaged the MAF or maybe the MAP sensor?
Could the water have warped my intake?

I'm having the same issue I just had it dynotuned once I start rolling it jumps to 1500 rpm which hole is the idle hole in the tb?

I got a code today, but wasn't able to read it. I'll try Monday.

I don't know how to clean the tps sensor and iac sensor. Do you think the water effected them? If there is a write up on cleaning them, I could probably do it.

I haven't had much luck in reading the engine code. So I decided to remove the AIC first as it was the one with the best clearance to get to. Turns out it was all gummed up with carbon and soot. I cleaned it out and it works fine now. It idles like it's supposed to.

I'm thinking the water splashing in probably dislodged a chunk that kept it from closing properly. Anyway, thanks for the advice. It was much simpler to do than I thought.
