Default 6.0l heads on an ls1

Sorry guys i did a search but it brought up soo many topics i couldnt weed through all of it with any useful information.

Heres the deal, Ive got a 6.0l shortblock and had planned on putting it in there.

But I got a good deal on a stock ls1 shortblock. So i bought it id like to have the original motor type back in my z not a truck motor.

So my question is is there any disadvatages/advantages of putting gm 6.0l heads on it. Im going to be running an MS4 and plan on milling the heads and getting different pushrods. Maybe some ls7 lifters....

Any thoughts?

dont do it, 6.0 heads are good for FI applications. they have bigger combustion chambers and your MS4 loves compression. youd be better off with stock LS1 heads.

Many will go with machined 5.3L heads.. to help or keep the compression up.

mill the heads 030 and use a cometic 040...compression will be right around stock....you will have to flycut or have the valves sunk in the heads for ptv clearance.....the 317 6liter heads have very similar runners to the 243 "ls6" heads...so you would gain the flow....
