I was looking at some patriot gold spring kits and I noticed you buy them with stock valve guides or bronze. Do I need to change my valve guides if I use these springs or can I use my stockers?

The spring kits come with valve guide seals, not valve guides. You have to remove the VG seals to change the spring seats so use the new seals in the kit. Besides, heads usually have to go to a machine shop to have valve guides replaced.

You don't need to change your guides unless they have a lot of wear on them. You can just change the guide seals and go from there.

Stock heads use grey iron guides which last a long long time. The seals should be changed when you do springs like the others said.

They don't come with the guides. The question is because of the different I.D. on the spring bases we offer. The 8401 comes with .505" I.D. base to be used with OEM valve guides and the 8401-B comes with .565" I.D. bases to be used with most aftermarket bronze guides.
