Should a car start w/ a P0341 - CMP sensor performance code??

New motor, getting P0341 - CMP sensor performance. Starts/runs fine. Ive got this new motor which is throwing this code but it starts and runs. This sensor came w/ the motor, is it possible that I have some different variation of the sensor? I have a 2000 C5 if that matters. The car seems to run/idle fine but It is throwing this code. Any opinions.
