Default curious of PTV issues? setup inside..

stock 99 shortblock
box stock 243 heads
226/234 .609/.602 110+0 xfi lobe (if available)
.030 cometic head gasket

any estimations on compression ratio and should i be concerned with ptv clearance? based on what i've searched i will be fine, i'd just like some input from those with similar setups before i order the cam and head gaskets.

well with my 230/230 .612/.591 xfi/xer i had .086 on intake and plenty on the exhaust...

it was on a 111+4 but i installed it 2* retarded so 111+2

with it straight up the intake was around .072...

so perdegree of advance or retard gave me 0.0065-7ish...

stock 241 heads and stock mls gaskets...hope this helps some

I would definitely degree the cam...I am guessing it is going to be too close to just chance the dot-dot bandwaggon

well, that is the point of finding out before i order a cam. i will order it accordingly and install dot to dot. thanks for your input, i believe the 243 heads offer a skosh more clearance than 241s, but i have yet to find anything concrete to prove/disprove that information. i will easily knock the cam down, as i am aiming for something more drivable than racecar, but at the same time i believe i can have more cam and power with the same driveability.

i would just get the cam i have speced out...noone is going to ahve a concrete answer if the clearance is going to be enough...

i asked the same for my cam and everyone said, "You will have plenty of room"...

if you are not going to degree the cam i would just buy an off the shelf cam that has been proven to fit...
