Why would oil pressure rise when I let off the gas?

my pump is brand new and the area in the pan isnt really pressurized anyways to the pan gasket wouldnt cause that. Dont touch those bearings tho...you're asking for trouble

He's not talking about the pan gasket. He means the pickup tube O ring. If its pinched, the pump could be sucking up air instead of oil from the pan. Its a possibility, but I still dont know how you can pinch those things. Pretty easy and straightforward install I though.
