I just installed a new cam in my car. I have APE S2 LS1 heads milled .030. The cam specs are 232/238 .595"/.605 on 112 lsa. I checked P to V last night. I have .085" on the intake side and .060" on the exhaust side. I'm using '02 ZO6 tri-metal gaskets. My question -> What is the min. clearence I should have on the exhaust side? Does anyone know the compressed thickness of the ZO6 gaskets? I heard that they were something like .050". If this is the case couldn't I just get a thicker gasket like a .070" Cometic? Or would I lose too much compression doing it this way? I could also just flycut .025" on the exhaust side of my piston? Thanks for the help guys!

.060 is not enough for the exhaust. Judging from your cam, I'm guessing the motor should be spinning upwards of 7000. At that speed I'd want about a tenth for my P to V, especially on the exhaust.

Prob better to flycut the exhaust IMO. You may be able to get a little more exhaust clearance by advancing the camshaft if you have an adjustible chain, but prob not enough, and at the cost of intake clearance.
