Heavy car as in a truck or a full weight F-body? Sorry for all the questions but how about a 224/231 114LSA in a T56 F-body with the 5.3L? Would the benefit of the longer exhaust duration be negligible with ported heads?

He was talking about a full-weight fbody. The trucks are much heavier. Ported heads would likely improve the exhaust flow of the restrictive exhaust ports. I think you should stay with your original idea of a TR224 cam. You should have a nice meaty power curve. If you plan on adding nitrous then maybe you could get a cam with a split duration.

Nitrous was a thought but I think I'll stick with the 224, thanks for the help!

Just picked up a F2-114 off the classifieds here, should be a nice stout cam for my build.
