Default ls1 intake and ls6 intake

how can you tell the difference. i bought this car and am trying to figure out any mods the previous owner may have put into the car. thanks.

the ls6 looks flatter on the bottom than the ls1 intake. Kind of tough to tell since you already have it on the car though.

you can get the 8 digit part number off it and post it up. you can also post a pic of it and someone can identify it for you.

I just checked this the other night as well. Here you go.

The old LS1 intake with the EGR setup is 12560688.

The Stock 2001-2002 F-body LS6 is 12561184.

The Z06 LS6 is 12573572.

yes you can see it while on the car still . I believe its on the drivers side

also just look at the coolant lines. If there is a coolant line running under the intake then its more then likely a ls1. If LS6 there will be no lines under the intake. You'll be able to tell if the line T's off and goes under.

passenger side has this number on the intake

12560688

and the TB has Ac written on it, is that a aftermarket tb?

OEM LS6 intake do not have EGR, all LS1 intakes do.
Then only LS6 intake with a EGR port are the aftermarket ones.

Thats an LS1. Not sure about the TB

Incorrect. The 97-00 corvettes with the LS1 intake did not have EGR.

okay. well i couldnt find a number on the tb, im guessing if the guy didnt get a ls6 then he didnt get a new tb either. so all he did was a lid.

whats better ls6 or ls2 intake?

and where is a good place to purchase them?

would it be better to get a ls6 intake first, or buy some headers, with an xpipe, electronic cut outs?

I too have the

12560688 part number. This IS a LS1 intake correct? I was told by seller it was, just making sure. In a way I am kinda happy it is. I have at least 25 ponies in the LS1 intake and TB.

Not to just bust in on the thread but I just checked my intake and its the 12573572 the one you say if for the corvette Z06 but mine cane from a 2002 camaro ss. My question is what is the dif between the Z06 and F-BODY ls6 intake? anything?
