What do you use the car for daily driver, weekend warrior?
Just think about what set-up you want to run on your car and just use that idea for how your going to mod it now.

The car is just someting to have fun with me nothing more maybe a 1000 miles a year I really want a 418 LS3 but 8k is out of reach rite now for a toy i really want to slap a cam in the old 128k piece but i know if it blows i will have a fit and have to fix it just figured if i could spend 575$ on pistons maybe another 400$ on bearings and gaskets and bolts then throw a cam in it and spray away for a wile.

Well you chould check out TSP they have assembled short blocks for a pretty good price. Heres a thought:

Its not a 413 like you want, but it is a nice replacement for a high mileage engine. And im sure they can get you a sweet deal if you get a long block as well, but i know that even $3000 isn't cheap.
