Default Help deciding which one to pick

I am deciding to go between a cam or a torque converter. I figured this would be the section i get the most response out of. But I am debating between circle d 3600 stall or a vengeance vxr5 cam. I will run stock heads for a little bit but will upgrade to trick flow 215's milled when i can. But i talked to the guy at circle d and he said some cams will cause the transmission to act up on shifts with out a torque converter. Will this cam cause that problem or will I be fine for awhile.

I say go the the TC. Be able to get you off the line faster (with a good tire) where the cam will only help in the top end really. And I don't know how big that cam is but a lot of companies will say don't use this cam without a _____ sized stall.

Get ALL your supporting bolt on mods before the cam goes in or it will suck big time. Stall first, full exhaust, LS6 IM or better at least before you do the cam. If you don't have the supporting mods the motor can't get in the fuel and air the cam wants to make power and you have a big dog that will drive worse than stock. My SS 3600 came after my lid and catback but I would do it first if i had to do it again. It cut consistently over .4 off my ETwith only that lid and CB. I have no direct experience with circle D but have only heard good things about them. Don't go budget here as a failed convertor can take the rest of the tranny with it. Search some Fuddle and TCI threads in the tranny section and you'll see. I really like what I am running but there are other good choices too

well i have done all the research on the torque converters and people say circle d is a better product then yank. Yank just puts out more volume. But i have the ls6 intake, headers. cat back. and a lid. So its seems I have all the suporting mods. Unless with that cam i need to upgrade my injectors, would i need to?

I looked at the PT series because they are very efficient up top but the shift extension is about 5900 and since I shift at 6500 Yank said the SS series was better for me since shift extension is about 4800. If you spin 6800 or better the PT will work well. This info is straight from a phone call to Yank. I am happy with my SS
