Joe you are the man with this package!! Awesome numbers, I would still like to come up there one day to get this install completed. A couple more questions to compare his setup though. Are his heads the 5.7ltr flavor milled .030? Also did you have to fly cut the pistons during the install?

This car has a stock short block. Joe's car has a stock ci short block with good pistons and rod bolts.

I dyno'd the numbers in the sig. with a relatively (at least these days) small tr224 cam, faulty driver's side O2 sensor and as well as driver's side fouled plugs.

I have a crappy hand bent (read crushed) mac off road ypipe, 3.73 gears, and no UD pully.

Joe has been on me for a while to step up to the plate to get my package up to par, but currently with all the house stuff going on, I haven't had the opportunity, but that will be changed shortly.

Once again, Joe is great at what he does. He cares about the person as well as the package in the car.

Take care....

Noticed based on the graph the run posted started at ~3,800 rpm. Is there a graph that shows the bottom end power in the 2,000 to 4,000 rpm range?

Thanks

The torque didnt fall off until about 5600. This must be a fairly large cam so the intake may have choked it a bit at the top. I think there's more in there.

We ran this through the full exhuast. That is one of the factors contributing to the falloff of torque. The exhaust choked it up. There is more power in this car. We also ran out of frequency with the MAF. You can see how the power dwindles at the end of the run. With fixing this MAF problem that line will go up not down.

If you read Joe's post a few up...there are a couple of things left to throw at this baby...stall, gears, EWP..etc.
With these things done and the MAF fixed we should see ballpark 467-470rwhp

As for price...you guys have to call the man himself.

I took the night off from the forum last night so I didn't see the new questions/comments, I'll try to address all of them here now.

Mike K. as we spoke on the phone, come on up, I will get you installed and dynoed over a weekend, I'll put you up in the local Holiday Inn.

THANKS VINCE! you have been totally supportive and our conversations still bounce around in my mind, especially right before the tune session Fri morning (nurves) lol!

JFM, Iv'e been in real close contact with Jay from AS lately, and we both agreed, the heads on your car now are real good set (excellent port work) from Jay! and were consulting on flow #'s and runner design this weekend, we would most likely just have to fly cut your exhaust side only, so all you will only need our cam and edit session. I will see you in LI next weekend to talk to you more about it.

99BlackBird, I don't own a Yank trans controller.. so sampling an A4 under 3+K is very hard to WOT without the trans downshifting to 2nd on the dyno, JD tries to sample as low as possible in the RPM band to get a clean pull without spikes untill I buy the module.

DaleMX, Good point, this car has no cutout and is definatly choked down, he will have a cut-out next time out and Brien is going to adjust the MAF callibration along with a new 85mm MAF next time out this week, Lil left in her . It's not a whopper cam though, and it idles flawless at 900 rpm with 19-20 hg in an A4.

The package price and part list for the last install was..

#1 Hooker Headers with a decent Y pipe and 02 extensions around $450.00? customer supplied.

#2 ASP single UD pulley $200.00?. Thunder Racing

#3 Some sort of aftermarket catback, preferably a cut-out after the Y pipe.

#4 Our head pricing is advertised on our web site, I believe the prices should be updated by now? we lowered them a bit.

#5 Our package cam $420.00.

#6 30 lbs SVO's about $220.00?. customer supplied.

#7 Pace MAF or SLP MAF $280.00?

#8 Any lid N filter, but TSP's 85mm is preferable and encouraged.

#9 Upgraded timing chain and gears?

#10 Ported TB $85.00

#11 LS6 intake part # 1184 is manditory and must be supplied up front for flow work.

#12 Yella Terras from Mark @ Raging Motorsports (great insurance).

Installation of heads, cam, headers, Y pipe, $2000.00 inculdes head gaskets, water pump gaskets, head bolts, Hardened Thunder Racing PR's at what ever length they come out to be. coolant, fly-cutting, 1 oil change before dyno pulls. Edit session/dyno time is contigent on how much dyno time I buy up front at JD's or wherever the customer wants to go and there pricing will applicaple. So for a "cold" build right off the street un modded is most likely in the 6K+ range in total. We have an M6 2001 Vette comming up from SC and within the next 2 weeks, what ever that car turns on the dyno is when everything is official at that point.

Thanks to all I didn't personally address!

JP

Anytime Joe.. Your setups are awesome. Not many vendors put as much time in as you do in making customers happy. Keep up the good work. I still want to drive up with Mike K., but we have both been busy lately.. I am waiting on Mike K. to give me some kind of date..

Joe:

You can create in Edit a dyno tune progam for A4's with the converter to lock up and no WOT downshift after 2500 rpm. I did this for when I dyno. You might be able to go down to 2000 without lock-up slippage issues, but 2500 is pretty safe.

Just reset the tables before the customer drives off.
