Default The Perfect Lifter.....

Now available from Morel is the Perfect Roller lifter. . .runs on a hyd roller or a SOLID roller lobe profile. After months of spintron testing, live engine testing, and field testing a new lifter is available to the enthusist. Morel has taken its technology in materials and body design of solid roller lifters and built the ultimate hyd roller. This lifter features an upgraded body, roller, and axle. The stainless tie bar is connected to a 3 button system to prevent binding and premature failure. The valving system has been tweaked to prevent valve float to a tested 7300 rpm. Last but not least the bodies are REM finished. Iin back to back testing in a BBC application this lifter proved to make 34 more HP over a std hyd roller lifter and an increase in additional rpm when used on the same cam profile.

The lifters when used on solid roller cams do have their limits. Spring pressures should be a max of 220# on the seat and 550# open pressure.

This new generation of lifter is recommened for severe street strip use and extended marine applications. You can now have you Solid roller and no lash adjustment.....

Wow, thats quite impressive! Those spring rates are not outrageous, but none the less very impressive. What is the preload range for these things? I assume it will be fairly narrow and thus require adjustable rockers.

Preload is Zero

LS1 Part number I will get.

Morel now has 3 levels of lifters. Street series, the Sportmans series (This is what I have supplied to the LS1 Vendors and is a very good lifter), and the new Pro Series which is for extreme applications in street and marine.

The lifter has been tested on solid roller lobes both in a controled dyno test and since last year in field applications. It is a Zero lash lifter wether used with a hyd lobe or a solid roller lobe.

How is preload zero? Does it rely on the expansion of metal? It needs something to push the plunger down, otherwise it couldn't function as a hydraulic lifter, no?

Yes. . .I have always supplied the fully machined Morels. The 2 new styles have just been introduced. The OEM budget lifter is only available in retro fits for SBC and BBC currently.

Set at Zero, this is not a normal hyd lifter...

you said no lash adjustment, which is not the same as lifter preload. i understand a solid roller has no preload, but you still set valve lash.

Ramp clearance is taken up in the valving of the hyd roller. . .just like a shock.

Also a .903" diameter for the LS1 and Warhawks is coming in the near future....

These are an evolution of the HTLs. They are $649 shipped. You can contact board sponsors for availability.

Kurt these are right up your alley...
