[QUOTE=99blancoSS;9428727]Oh so now the rest of the story comes into play : a tune, intake, TB, headers. The whole point of this cam is no tune required to gain more power.

Give this cam those supporting mods and you be doing better than what Edelbrock has stated obviously. Try comparing apples to apples next time

With just a tune and no mods you can gain power over an oem tune no matter what cam is in there.

You've missed the point or ignored it completely. Dont bother with your graph its useless in this case.[/QUOTE

oh ok sorry i read the thread in the night i was kinda sleepy sorry but will the edelbrock make more power than my ls6 cam with my mods the reason i ask is becuase i want to change the cam to a bigger cam without lope i dont want a loud lopey cam thats going to cause attention from cops with my mods u think the edelbrock cam will make 400 with my set up

Depending on which LS6 cam you have it will be:

2001 LS6 cam
207/217 int/exh @ 0.050" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
116 LSA

2002+ LS6 cam
204/218 int/exh @ 0.050" duration
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA

And the Edelbrock cam is:

207/220 int/exh
.573 / .580" int/exh lift
118 LSA

So no, that's not a whole lot of difference at all, man. Just my 2 cents.

Another misses the boat ! Looks guys and girls. This is not a thumping big stick by any means. Not even close. It been tested and proven by Edelbrock to make decent gains without a tune. Dont try and make more or less out of it if you dont see the value. Going with a bigger cam means more expense in one way or another. This is an inexpensive solution for those who dont wish for all the trouble that comes with bigger cams.

Cant make it any more simpler than that but yet some just dont seem to get it.. LOL

It utlizes reasonable lift that does not require expensive springs or retainers or having to change seats or seals. Stuff it in, drop the springs in and drive away and be done with it. Gain decent power over your OEM ls6 cam. Be it the 01 or 02 version you will net a decent gain over it. Edelbrock developed and tested it and posted their results. I match it with PAC 1218 springs at a great price and offer the tools to do the swap.

Not sure why anyone wants to continue to dis a great beginner package but try and look beyond your own driveway and maybe you'll see the value that it was intended for. Maybe not, you cant reach everyone..LOL

Those specs are the same as the GT2-3 cam that has been out for a long time. Plenty of data on it ,do a search. It gives you about 10 HP over the LS6 cam (02) and gives a stock idle.

Thanks YankeeVert - So this cam swap will give someone with an LS6 cam 10 HP? Sounds like a great idea

IT is not the same as the LPE cam, Different lift and are you sure they use the same lobes? No your not, you have no idea what lobes are on each cam. FYI the lobes influence power potential of the cam.

I hit 370.4rwhp and 354.5 rwt.
with gt2-3

Yea those are terrible numbers

Once again no tune required for more power, but some people dont see the value. Nothing else I can say. Some people are just blind and only see things for themselves and not for other people.

If you want to see some facts go ahead and search the dyno section for the gt2-3 and look at all happy customers.
The Edelbrock is not the exact same but they are very similar.
