help ls1 i have a 99 ls1 camaro. when i got the car i put a ls6 intake,561 lift cam,long tube headers.with a tune the car made 360 and 343ft at the wheels and with a 150 shot it made 520 and 600 ft at the wheels.i had a rod bearing go out.so i am rebuilding it.i am going too put new rods bearings,arp rod bolts and head bolts.i am thinking about getting the head ported and deck 30 thouands. i want the car too make over 400 at the wheels on the motor.should it make 400 ? or should i go with a bigger cam? give me some ideas thanks
Look into some PRC/Patriot/Livernois stage 1 heads. Won't cost you much more than having your stockers ported and milled. I'd think you could do 400 with that cam. I have the PRC LS6 heads and could not be happier... Maybe search for your cam in the dyno section and see what guy's are getting out of it.
