Default LQ4 or LQ9

i have been looking at buying a 6.0 liter engine out of a 2005 hummer. i was just wondering if this would be an LQ4 or LQ9 engine. i was planning on rebuilding it and putting it in my 01 SS. the reason it was being removed was due to some compression loss. (they claimed from sugar in fuel) should this be something i should steer clear of, or will a hot tank and magna flux be enough insurance?

pretty sure it's an LQ4

if you look at this link and scroll down you can see the LQ4 being listed as the engine...

LQ4 = Great FI build
LQ9 = Great N/A build

in case you didn't know that already

well, i knew what i wanted (LQ9) but i didn't know what i was getting. lol. i haven't bought it yet, but it's a really good deal. they only want $600 for the entire longblock. is that a good price, or could i do better, (and try to get an LQ9)?

Default new option

so i put out a WTB ad locally for a 6.0, and i received a call from a guy whose pickup burnt up not long ago, with a 6.0 in it. would any of the parts on this motor be worth anything? what about block, heads, castings etc...? any help here would be great cause it is DIRT cheap
