Default WTF is this?

First shot of #7

Closer up

Piece on left came out of ypipe, piece on right came out of cylinder

Anybody have any ideas as to what this is? My builder found it after pulling the heads for the head/cam swap.

Nope no epoxy in the Tb. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. I have a screened stock MAF as well. so its not like it sucked up anything that big I wouldnt think.

Would helpful if you told us what the pieces are! metal, plastic, Alum.. etc.. If it is plastic, How about part of the intake or intake tubing?

But it may be just bubble gum from what I can see of the picture..

When I pulled my heads crap from the graphite gaskets and build-up from on top of the pistons settled like that.

the pic of the #7 piston looks like maybe a burnt ring landing, looks like small bits of aluminum. but im just guessing because it happened to me on #7 piston in my old stock engine.

Pull the egr tube out of the intake and compare it to the stuff that builds up there.

All the cylinder walls look fine. Yeah I'm in bsg. The car is in Gray, tn though. The seafoam was done a month before this. After the drive to clear out the seafoam the car wasnt driven except to the builder. although it was started once a week. I'm hoping its just carbon. This is the first time the car has been apart.

yeah mine has about 84,000 on it and my walls and everything are perfect. no play in the pistons whatsoever, not hardly any groove from the rings right below the deck. But the block might be toast from a damn broken head bolt

That stuff does just kinda look like carbon. Cut it in half, do some Forensics on it. See if a magnet will attract it or not, it's probably just carbon.

rofl. I'm thinking thats what it is. Bad part is there was some of the gunk in one of the valves and the valve seat may have taken a beating from it. BUT I'm not using the stock heads so I'm not too concerned about that. My builder is gonna take the valve to take a look just because hes curious like that lol.
