Default Help me build bulletproof block

ok, so i spun a bearing and am basically looking at a new block, i want something that will net me more power, and also be near bulletproof, i will be adding a 90mm intake and throttle body and basically spraying the 100 shot, just unsure of what block to go with and what kind of forged internals

bulletproof?

that nice new Billet Dart block should do the trick

just make sure everything in the rotating assembly is forged...

between both of those, you should have a really solid engine...

just get your wallet ready for it

Our 408 is about as bullet proof as you can get for $4292 with Callies crank and rods and Wiseco pistons, hell fire rings, ACL race bearings, ARP. Made for big n2o or boost!

Go with the 408 w/ all forged internals. That thing will be very strong even with using spray and doesn't hurt the budget too much.

If you have the $$$$$, the C5R block is still out there. But there are cheaper alternatives....

No need to go iron for a 100 shot. mine as well just stroke your stocker to 383, and get forged internals. You don't need a 'super-expensive' setup for a measly 100 shot. A better investment would be in good set of heads.

What cubic inch are you thinking? You can build a rock solid 347 just as easily as a 408. It just depends on what your goals are out of the engine as well as your budget. I concur, 100 shot is kids stuff compared to what an iron block can do, your stock block is lighter and if you really only want just that much power then the alluminum block can handle it like cake and will be lighter.

I would get the stock block blueprinted and at the same time get your bearings done .10 over (if you don't know that, you probably know but just makin sure)

Built internally and blueprinted alluminum block would be a good price and could handle insane power, more than you are hoping for, and would be lighter and more cost effective. I think if you do go iron block you should scratch your 100 shot idea and either go turbocharged or more nos cuz its just a wast having such a strong setup with such comparatively small hp in relation to what it can handle.

How much more hp could a 408 make over a forged 347? Would a 408 be overkill for the street?

Substantialy more given the proper attention. But its about the budget. IF you want big Hp it comes at a cost.

But as pointed out earlier that's not always the point.

No a 408 isnt overkill, but its one of those things thats relative and everyone will have a different opinion.... I have a 457 in my street car..LOL

always has always will. You can only lessen it slightly by applying your own knowledge, given that you know enough to apply.
