Default To change cams or not.....

Well, my cylinder heads are almost finished and I was advised to change cams. My heads flow very well on the exhaust side as well as the intake. I am currently running a 232/238 XER which only has 400 miles on it. I was told to try a single pattern cam with similar lift and total duration. Do you guys think I should go to a single pattern cam or stay with the dual pattern and see how it works? The heads flowed ~240cfm @.600 and 310+ @ .600. The efficiency was 76-79% through out the flow test.

Comp sure likes to make those split pattern cams, don't they? A relic from the SBC age, I belive. But I doubt you would notice a big difference; I'd stay with what you've got unless the motor is already taken apart anyway and you have the extra money.

I'd say keep the split pattern and see how it does. The spray might respond better to it as well.
