99 LS1 has a ticking noise. Its coming from the drivers side, it never use to do it before. It only does it, when the car warms up. Once it warms up it ticks. If you shut the car off, start it up, it'll start ticking again in about 5 minutes. There seems to be a hose coming from the bottom of the manifold, that goes into a fuel type of modulator, that fuel lines connect too. I can feel some type of ticking in this. I was wondering what you guys thought?
could it be a loser rocker arm
is the lifter draining?
The car has oil.
Do bad EGR's make a ticking noise? (its cut)
Any help is greatly appreciated. I also didn't know if this was the correct spot to post this, because I have no idea where it's coming from?
Thanks

my car is a 99 also. bought it used in 2000. I noticed it ticking while it was warming up also. on my first oil change I put in redline 10-30, and the ticking soon disappeared. the ticking on my engine seemed to be coming from the passenger side of the engine. check and make sure none of your spark plug wires are shorting against the engine anywhere. it's easiest to check when it's dark with the hood raised. I can't say one way or another if changing oils will help your situation, but it's worth a shot imo. there are several types of synthetic oils to choose from. check some of the posts in this section to help you make a decision if you haven't already. good luck.

If it spun a bearing wouldn't there be power loss? Also, if it were warmed up, ticking, and you shut the car off, would the ticking noise be right back, or would you have to wait another 5 minutes.
I know ls1's have a problem with piston slap, I think it mainly because the head is ported wrong, I could be wrong though.
Thanks for your help so far guys..
