I am getting ready to purchase my cam setup this month and I just can't decide between the three. I have read enough threads to completely flood my brain on all three of these cams.
My main concern is this: LOnSLO has the F1 on stock heads right now and is putting up very nice numbers at the track however I have been told that the F1 is probably a little big for stock LS1 heads, and needs LS6 heads or ported LS1 heads. I won't be swapping heads for quite some time, probably 6 months to a year, so I can't buy a cam that really "needs" ported heads. I of course will have tunning for whatever cam I go with.
Also, the TR is on sale of course, but I would rather get the right cam the first time and spend the extra money if need be.
So what do you guys suggest??

Between the F1 or X1, it doesn't really matter too much. They are within grinding tolerances of each other so it's actually feasible to order one with the other's specs on the cam card.

My vote goes to the TR230. It drove great around town and hauled *** at the track.
11.25@121 w/ stock heads.
Plus, it's on sale now. lol

Are these cams capable of taking my car into the 11s w/ a 3500 raceweight and a 10 bolt w/ bfg drag radials?
I know it is very much driver dependent, but is it possible say w/ a 1.8 60'?

Times would vary greatly with the driver, Personally, I would go with whoever has the best price or best customer service. The specs are all too close to tell. I have dealt with Thunder NUMEROUS times and they are absolutely AWESOME to work with, Allan at Futral is an incredible guy as well and I think he has ALOT of knowledge about these LS1s( I hope ) THe X1 is also a kickass combo, go with whichever sponsor tickles your funny bone the most.

Get the X1. I love it, makes awsome power high in the rpms and sounds sweet. I`m tuned down(23 degrees) and running rich and made sweet numbers with A4,12-bolt and all. If you want my dyno sheet let me know. I will E-mail it to you. Just let me know. MTI sells the X1 and it`s sweet. Talk to Jayson, tell him what you want! Good Luck! See my numbers in my sig! Just E-mailed you my sheet! Tell me what you think

Beard - I'll check out that graph as soon as my stupid email starts working again. I think I am leaning towards the X1. I don't think I can go wrong with any of the three.
Does the X1 have advance ground in? I sent MTI an email yesterday, but won't get a reply until Monday since it is the weekend.

Beard, I would be interested in your dyno sheet as well if you could email it to me. I'm deciding between the TR230 and the X1 myself...

I would go with the TR230,don't go too big, that 591 lift might put notches in your pistons(talk to bigbos about that)and the stock heads can only flow to a certain point put the biggest cam possible in your stock heads might create some problems in the longrun.

I talked to MTI and they assured me that .591 lift wouldn't cause PTV clearance issues on stock heads. They informed me that they use that much lift on their ported heads which are cut .030, so I would be fine.
As far as head flow, I know I won't be putting out the max potential of the cam by using stock heads. The reason I like these three cams is that they will work with stock heads, but also will work nicely with ported heads down the road. Some of us can't change cams every month So I have to chose right the first time.
Thanks for the replies though - keep em coming.
