Default Comp 921's vs Patriot Golds spring force test results

I picked a single spring at random from a new set of Patriot Gold's and Comp 921's. I brought them to a local engine builder who has a machine the tests springs and print out the collected data. I snapped a pic below of the sheets. This is not a brand A is better than brand B thread just putting this info out there. They were tested on the same machine one right after the other so a true apples to apples comparison. I'm sure there is alot more to a springs quality and durability than spring force numbers alone.

Patriot Gold

Comp 921

Pretty even but the PP setup is much cheaper
I have heard to only use there extreme's but who knows for sure..

I still like single beehives the best
COMP/PAC/PSI all make them with lifts for u to .700

Interesting, the Patriots are slightly stiffer than advertised, the Comps are low compared to their advertised, and by quite a bit. Were both new springs?

Both were brand new, the Comp had a slightly higher average spring rate and a bit more clearance before coil bind. The comp's advertise 135#'s@1.770 and this test observed 139@1.760 (closest measurement in test) so that was very close. The Patriot was right on the money as the advertised 135@1.800 came in at exactly that. After that just as Vettenuts stated the Pats seems to be a bit stronger than advertised and the Comp a bit weaker.

The few Comp springs I have tested were on the low side of advertised. The Manley beehive I'm now using was right on the money.

I checked a set of 918's (previously made by PAC, not the new ones) and they were right on the money. I also checked a set of PSI 1511's and they were right on the money as well.
