Default LS6 Cam?

Anyone know how much improvement I can get from an LS6 Cam over stock? I still have stock heads and intake. Thanks

You can use any cam you want, why pick another factory cam? There are plenty of aftermarket cams that will give you 40 hp or more. No mater which cam you put in, it will be the same amount of work to install it. If I went through a 10 hour install, fired up my motor, and it still sounded stock, I'd be pissed!

$189 verses $399 could have something to do with it. And not everyone cares about an aggressive sound. For many, a stock idle is a plus. Not everyone is trying to get into 11's on their car.

OK it's your call man, but I'd wait and save up some more money and get a cam that kicks butt. If all you want is something that runs and sounds stock, save yourself $189 plus all the work of putting it in, because you won't hardly notice a difference with the LS6 cam vs. the stock cam. My buddy has a stock Z06, and it ran just like my Camaro SS did when stock. If blindfolded, I wouldn't even be able to tell which car I was riding in.

there have been many people that showed a 20 to 30 hp increase over there stock cam. for the price and reliability, you can't beat that.

Thats why some Z06's are hitting nearly 400 rwhp with bolt on (the heads aren't making that big of a difference)

I think I'll take my 352 RWHP with just a lid and an '02 LS6 cam through an A4 for only $322 total cost installed for the cam (do all the work myself) all with a completely stock idle and zero problems. Those dyno numbers were also with only 1100 miles on the car, so Im sure its a bit higher now that its broken in. To each their own, we all dont want the same thing so dont flame him for wanting something you would never consider.
