Drivers race if they have the same tranny. End of discussion. ALL ls1 F bodies save for the 1LE stripper cars are the same speed. Those are just a smidge faster based on weight.

X2 plus on a side note i read(i think it was on this forum) that the stock WS6 and the stock SS had the same HP and TQ numbers just the WS6 was a suspension option. i am not 100% sure on this but i did go to a carmax dealer and on the sticker it posted the stock power and torque numbers and they were exactly the same as my Z/28 that confused me greatly cause didnt the SS have better numbers than the Z/28?

Oh, and the weights were all pretty close depending on what options were selected.
Come on people, I'd at least expect the argument of stock f-body vs. stock ls1 vette, but f-body vs. f-body????
And I like the argument being based around the ws6 and SS. It's like you beleive the marketing that those two were far superior to the Z28 and base Trans Am. The ws6 and SS packages were basically some suspension and appearance mods. Granted, different mufflers, but we're talking less than 10hp difference.

It's the emblem .... you know WS6 emblem gives you 50hp , if the color makes you fastest then RED wins hands down thats why cops look for red sports cars first then any other color.

As for fastest, I should know, it's silver, had a red z28 and the silver feels so much faster. Got to love the sleeper.
As for the weight.
Trans am WS6
3417 LBS
Camaro SS
98:3360
00-01:3439
So it depends on who has the fatter ***.
so a whole 20 lb's , think you need at least 100 lbs to drop a 10th.
FYI, it's the same damn car.
