Yea, in a 6 speed. That is the only way the Z06 comes. My take on it is if you ever plan on doing any more mods later spend the money on the heads now. If you are thinking of more cubes later then get the 225s instead.

I did not know this but if you go with Darts (or if they changed the design since they came out) you need to grind of the tabs on the rocker pedastools. Otherwise, this will happen.

I know he knows his stuff but he wanted 2 grand to port my Dart 205's... Too much money in my book at the moment.

To the OP, i would go with the Darts if those are your two final options.

Its far more cost effective to purchase the Darts with the work done through him. I could be behind alittle but the CNC setup they have for the 205's is a full port and performs like madness, whereas for the 225's they offer a cleanup and killer VJ that puts them above the competition.

I don't care what any one says you want to go with the highest flow numbers you can out of the smallest intake runner. Thats a must if your building a low compression street motor. If you building a high compression, High reving nitrous motor the larger runner won't hurt you.

I would go with the darts. I know of Dart 225's with a valve job that out powered AFR 225's. They also dropped the compression 1.5 points and went to a smaller cam with the Darts.
205's are even better. You could run the 205's as cast on a stock cube motor and if you want to step in cubes later, send them off to be ported and have the best cathedral head out in my opinion.
Just options.

Thats Hunter02SS swaped DART 225 66cc for AFR 225 72cc
AND GAINED ALMOST 100RWHP and 70RWTQ
No way Dart out powered AFR.
I'd go with PRC for sure great price and you can check the Dyno section lots of results.

The car was boosted and makes over 1000 rwhp. Additionally, he also changed the boost controller at the same time as the heads. There are more variables then just the head swap for that dyno, so take it with a grain of salt.

You can believe what you want. Out of the box Dart with a smaller cam and less compression was the same peak and better under the curve and Dart with a VJ was even better under the curve and 10-15 higher peak.
Like I said, just different options.

I can't believe we're comparing these two heads. The Dart cylinder head is a as cast part that ships typically barely breaking the 280cfm mark. Comparing that to a fully cnc ported cylinder head that flows over 300cfm is not a good comparision. The PRC heads have been proven time & time again to make 40rwhp to the tire by just bolting them on. You can run a search & find tons of flow numbers & dyno sheets from both cylinder heads that will definately speak for themselves!
If anyone doesn't agree & thinks they have a out of the box Dart casting that out powers the PRC heads shoot me a PM. I'll supply the PRC 5.3l heads, and the before & after chassis dyno for your test. If you find the Darts make more power you can keep my heads & your Darts.
It's just that simple....
