Default Putting motor back together. have some questions please.

my motor is apart and i will be assembling soon as i buy the new parts.

what is a good head gasket to go with?

i will be running stock heads, probably a stock cam, but i MIGHT be going with an aftermarket cam. nothing huge.

what size and what kind of head gasket should i get?

next question, i am upgrading lifters, and i will be getting ls7 lifters. what length pushrods do i need? and what is a good ratio for rockers?

if i get the cam i will be going with patriot gold dual springs, what rockers should i go with?

ANY help would be appreciated, im new at this.

I like the Cometic gaskets. You can run a .040 gasket.

7.4 rods will be ok and stock rockers will be fine for you, no need to upgrade them.

Most aftermarket cams with stock heads will use a 7.400 pushrod but it's a good idea to check it with a pushrod length checker. The procedure is fairly easy and the tool inexpensive. Here is a thread on this.

.040 or .045 gaskets make for a nice quench, but the GM MLS gasket is cheap and extremely easy to work with. I went with the GM MLS gasket myself.
