Huge factor. Without them you would run out of oil and likely start a fire.

No. They are just a cover for your valvetrain(rockers, springs, etc.).

Damn man, yeah actually they are...the lighter they are the faster your car will be.. each 100lbs removed from a vehicle is roughly .1 off your 1/4 et

And valve covers are what like 2 lbs each.

Plus the OP was asking about HP, and weight does not affect HP one bit.
