Default Help with CAM

What's the best cam to go with? All I have for mods are bolt ons. I do plan in changing the heads in the future. I was wondering if I would benefit changing the cam with stock heads. TIA Scott

Yes, youll definitely gain with just a cam. You need to do some homework on cams and decide if you want to go with an almost stock idling one or lopey, amount of lift you feel comfortable with, and just overall driveability. I gained 74 hp to the wheels with my heads, intake and a baby cam 222/222 .560 114. My car right now still sounds 95% stock but runs like its on steroids. <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Can you recommend one that will work good with what I have and give me a nice lope????? Scott

Check out this thread:

You will have a good lope with a 112 or 114 LSA cam, 112 having more lope than 114. The "Hammer" cam that I8COBRA was talking about is a great cam, along with the B1, T1, TR220, TR224.... And all of these will work well with a good set of aftermarket heads. These are all considered pretty mild cams that will work well on the street with tuning.

I am in the beginning stages now trying to figure out what I am going with. That is one I'm going to really consider. Thanks for the input....Scott
