Default So I have a valve spring problem, not a head problem

The Comp 918s I bought are NOT comp 918.

Spec wise they are identical to stock. But they were cast gray with a yellow paint stripe on them, brand new in a comp 918 box, still had plastic wrapping and all.

I bought them from a member and am waiting to see if I can get a receipt from where he bought them.

Any ideas what else I should do? The springs are new and unused other than having been put on a set of heads but I don't know how long they have been purchased.

Comp 918's only come in two colors from what I've seen. The original are bare steel with a blue stripe. The new version looks like a silver coating with no stripe.

Thanks,
Shane

No stripe, looks like bare steel

The springs I have are identical to stock springs. Mic the same diameter, same number of coils, ect. They are new though and you can tell they're never been run.

I guess I got fucked.

Doesn't sound like 1218s. Isn't there a gm spring with a yellow stripe.

75 lbs at what height? Any spring will measure 75 lbs depending on height.

There are lots of good members here, you just need to loook at their feedback.

Vendors are a good choice on here, but I have to say before I became a vendor I sold all my old stuff on here and never a complaint from anyone. Very sorry for your experience, if I can help let me know.

If you want I'll cut you an even better deal on the 1218's to make up for this. Shipping plus $10 over cost sound good?

well it wasn't the guy I got them from, it was someone he got them from

they were at 75lbs installed on the heads...supposed to be 1.800

point is on one head i had stock springs and on another the new ones...using the same tool i watched him go from one head to the other and take the same measurement

he shimmed a couple and only got the pressure up to 100lbs

I'd take that deal from 99BlancoSS in a heart beat if I were in your shoes.
