Hello guys,

I have cts-v which has LS6. My current set up is maggie, cam, headers and cat back. in past my car put down 489rwhp with 7pounds of boost and wanted to know if i can run 10psi with stock LS6 long block except camshaft. i have checked around and found mixed stories and wanted to hear from people actually run 10psi or more with there stock ls6.

As long as the tune is good you should be able to run 10 psi no problem..just dont beat on it everywhere you go

why are people breaking their pistons with ls1 and ls6? is it just that these pistons can't handle that much combustion pressure or is it bad tune and detonating? there are lots of non forged piston cars with high compression running 10psi or more.
