man I can't believe some of y'all changin oil anything short of 3000. Unless you are runnin an intense setup you are wastin a lot of money. Anyway I hear a lot about rod bolts failing so if your gonna rev hi I would replace em and save what could become replacing a crank. Not sure but you will probably have to pull engine to do a cam anyway. Jus flip the bitch over.

Dude, You don't even have to pull the A/C condenser out much less the motor for a cam swap

Thank you. Someone knows what they are talking about. I pull my motor every 3k miles to do my oil change. lol

I sure hope no one is pulling their motor for a cam swap.

I shift around 6,750, and see 7k every so often on my turbo'd stock ls1 motor (zo6 head, cam) car.

I've got 15,000 miles on my motor (otherwise stock bottom end) since putting in Katech rod bolts per their instructions, without any problems. The car sees plenty of autox (lots of rpm change), an occasional trackday (sustained rpm), and plenty of dragstrip launches at 5k+.......your results may vary.

I have never heard of someone having a problem with the katechs.I replaced mine about 10k ago and have seen 6900 on them and car is running great..A lot of people that spin bearings are low on oil,or have a oil return problem.I just recommend the Katechs over the arps.

I think this rod bolt deal has all been made into something alot bigger than it really is...

your damned if you do and damned if you dont.. I know a guy that spun a bearing not 100 miles after swapping to katechs.. and he followed instructions.
I know a different guy that has h/c 98 LS1 with 150k spinning it to the moon daily on stock bolts.. no problems

Any way you look at it your spinning a stock motor 1000rpm higher than it was intended.
Nothing is bullet proof.

Yeah I doubt 300 over the stock limiter will hurt stuff too bad!

I've hit 6800 rpm on mine with stock rod bolts, also have 113k miles on the car. My valvetrain will spin 7k no problem though.
