Stock Oil Pump; Failures?

I've just ordered the RGR stage II H/C package from LS1Speed.com (killer deal) and they said I should look into the SLP oil pump. My Z28 is a '98.

I can barely afford what I'm getting, any comments from the LS1 gallery?

I've got an ARE oil pump. My stocker went out when the car was only 3 months old. 6 Months later the thrust bearing was shot, the crankshaft was shot, the short block was shot :-(
