Default Brand new motor, compression questions

Okay, I spent the better part of the winter building a forged H/C 347 with mods in sig. The heads are milled down to 59cc and I also used Cometic .040" head gaskets. The motor only has about 9 or 10 varying RPM miles on it and has some idling time trying to figure out what was wrong with the tune, I got the tune situation figured out and will be getting it out again next week to put some substantial mileage on it. I would like to check the compression soon afterwards to make sure my rings got sealed alright and make sure everything looks to be in good order. My question is what should I be looking for? What pressures should I be seeing and is there anything I should be looking for with my setup? I just want to make sure everything is in good shape and I've got no problems or red flags...

Thanks guys!

175 sounds about right.I just finished my setup today witch is the same as yours. Had trouble with the new oil pump locking up in the first 15sec of cranking. Just keep checking your oil and all fluids. valves sure do make alot of noise don't they.... Hope everything keeps going well for you, good luck

Yeah, the valvetrain seemed pretty noisy when I first started this thing up, but it's not too bad now. It seems to have quieted down considerably.
