LOL, sorry guys, forgot to mention that I ALREADY swapped springs. got the comp cams 921 dual kit

I had done a spring and pushrod swap a WHILE back as what I had read was "oh my gosh all these cars are bending pushrods and such, everyone needs chromemoly pushrods..." thats basically it in a nutshell. Well that was all coming from the guys who over-REV their cars and beat the ever loving **** out of them. SO, i bought new springs and pushrods, it was a worthy investement but just not at the time.

Also get new Viton valve seals for the stems.
well ****... i already ordered a ls6 pump from gmpartsdirect. crap, oh well, it will still be better than not swapping it.

Viton valve seals for the stems... can you point me where to get those?

well got the pump and it had rust on the "ring" on the inside, so I sent it back. waiting to get another to see if the same thing happens.

also, when I order a new ls1 timing chain, should I go ahead and get all new gears? the motor only has 33k on it

Getting eready to do my H/C swap in a week or two. Have almost the exact same mileage as you (34K). To be honest, I'm leaving the stock oil pump + chain in the car. No issues on aftermarket cams for the past 4 years and the 01-02 models seemed to have less issues w/ the pumps. Thus, I think the risk is greater for pinching the o-ring and having oil issues by changing the pump than leaving it.

Now, befire the ranting begins, if the car was a 98-00 model or if I had 60+K miles on it...then yes, I'd change the pump/chain. But at 30K? No....

Just my $0.02.

You have to pull the heads to change the lifters. Usually not needed. I am changing my lifters....mainly cause I've heard one tapping for the past 2 years..... and since the heads will be off in my case....figured it was as good a time as any.

But, unless you have reason to believe one is going bad.....the stock lifters should serve you fine.
