Alright, car is getting paid OFF this month.. I am leaning toward the Torquer v3 or 228r and its cam only route for now.

Same setup from post #10

Of course I'll be upgrading the chain, pump, etc.

With full tune for now, what no.'s might I be looking at?

Darkhorse give us a call to discuss options with the PRC Stage 2.5 5.3l head. We can custom mill & setup the heads specific to the camshaft you select. I personally like either the Torquer 3 or the 228R camshaft for the power goals we're discussing. Either one can make great power with the 5.3l heads.

Not to mention they're also on special!!!

yup most definitely!!! I'm learning and already went through a clutch swap about 2 weeks ago. My buddy will be educating me on the heads & cam installation. He did his OWN work in his 01 formula.

It's sweet working on your own car

Thanks guys!

AFR 205 milled to 59cc and a cam in the 224-228 duration should do just fine. Big cams give up bottom end torque and Hp in order to make a useless in a street car peak number. Stay with a medium sized cam and good velocity heads for your best street results. AFR's are still one of the best heads on the market. Do some reading about velocity.

We' have AFR 205's and a cam for $2550 right now

Here is a good read
