Default cam only help and tech needed.

ok i know this is not reguarding a truck but it is for my car, which is an 02 ls1 camaro with a 40k mile ls1 bone stock with supporting bolt ons( 4.10 gears, kooks 1 3/4 lts with magnaflow cat, fipk, built t 56, ls6 intake and tr55 plugs, air system delete and yeah all bolt ons)

it is my DD and it has to be 100 percent reliable . and i think im just addicted to modding and adding power. it runs great as is and im pretty happy with it but i always want a lil more and i know i can pick up a good 50+ rwhp and my goal is 400+ rwhp and i know heads would help but they can be easily done at a later date.

the cam im looking into is a custom cam by pat g on tech. its a 22x/23x 60x/60x on 111 lsa. i want it to sound down right routy . which looking at specs it will . especially with a cutout.

im going to change the spirngs to patriot gold's . possibly extremes. ls2 chain ported oul pump and 42lb injectors mayne 38's since i have a set.

im just wondering how reliable i can keep this , spinning a bearing is my worst enemy . which i know is unpredicatable. but i want techinical reasons why i should ro shouldnt do this.

this cam isnt huge by todays standard but not small at all.

i was also looking at a 224/224 tr 112 cam which is proven but will make slightly less power.

so let the discussion begin.

My car is just as reliable as before tha cam except the rear end. If you are going to drive the car hard with a cam get a rear end. I have broke my 10 in a few different ways. Now I'm just trying to save up for a 9"

well i know some have broke their rears on stock motors and some have made them last just luck i guess.

im really not trying to upgrade the rear . i just wanted a bit more power since ive done all the bolt ons and just need reliability.

so i think reliable = stock lol sad to say and even harder to keep things this way.

I had to switch to a 12 bolt when i threw on a set of headers and true duals. When i went to a cam i was really glad i had that strength back there. I know its not what you want to hear, but sometimes the truth sucks.

For a DD, stay with a wider LSA, 116 with 23x 24x duration and below .600 lift for the sake of making the springs last.

my lg g5x2 ran 11.49 @ 118 3880 race weight and the drive ability is great......still gets mid 20's on the highway 10.89 @ 121 on 100 shot but the window switch went bad causing it to spit & sputter and low mph
