Default NEWB and I need a quick answer about lq4 or lq9 block

Im wanting to replace an ls1 in my camaro and have a guy who has an lq4 longblock for sale. Its just the block I need and I know the lq9 and lq4 are the same but what is the difference in the longblock and the shortblock? will either long or short fit in an ls1 camaro? is there benefits to one over the other?

The pistons are the only difference. You will need to drill an tap one boss on the front left of the block for the alternator bracket.
Long block means it has the heads, short, no heads.
