Default 380HP seem a bit off to you for heads and cam?

Just curious, my car only read 380hp/365tq when put on the dyno and something doesn't seem right at all. I know dyno numbers should be taken lightly and that the performance really shows in the track, but i'm starting to think this is still odd enough worth mentioning.

Not throwing any codes, took it to a local shop and had them scan it, nothing really that would affect performance. It has been tuned. I can't think of what it would be.

Mods
- Comp XER 228/232 112 @~.600
- Patriot LS6 Style Heads (243)
- All the supporting heads and cam mods (oil pump, pushrods, injectors, etc)
- LS6 intake (stock TB)
- Lid
- 3.73 rear
- Longtubes

Am I complaining about nothing or does something seem wrong to anyone? I just thought that i would for sure net at least 400 with all the money i've dropped into this, at least from all i've read and all the time i've dedicated to research. Any ideas?

It depends. Is this a low reading dyno?

Seems low to me too even for a Mustang or Dynopac(sp?).

Dunno much about the dyno. I'm don't think it was a mustang dyno, but i'm not completely positive. I'll upload the graph later.

Here is what I would look closely at:

Dyno type & set-up
DA for the day you dynoed
Tune (is it spot on or is there room for improvement)

The 3.73's aren't gonna help dyno numbers but they also aren't enough to majorly effect you. The 10-bolt is helpin you opposed to a 12-bolt or 9" when lookin at dyno numbers only. So is being a 6-speed.

Doesn't look quite right to me compared to others with similar or even smaller cam set-up's though. If I had to take a guess I'd say it's in your tune & with it spot on you could pull more power out of it.

Not each brand. Each individual dyno. Get out more. See more. You'll see that even different dynos of the same brand read different. Some are very generous. Which would make me mad when I hit the track and it runs slow for the numbers.

Well I would say i trust the dyno, i don't have any reason not to. It's just that the numbers don't add up.

Like i said, i'm not trying to get caught up in the numbers like a lot of people do... but when you have cam only cars out there with supporting mods running 380-400 and here I am w/ an extra grand worth of parts making less than them, it just gets under my skin. Granted not everyone out there is running that but i bet (and from what i've seen) 90% of the people with similiar setups as mine are hitting at least 400.

This is very true but everybody knows a Mustang will almost always dyno lower than a Dynojet. Same for a Dynopac

I have been out. That is how I know this is a a fact

Seems low to me, is there another dyno and tuner you can try? With just the mail order tune from TSP my cam only put down 390rw and they got 14 more out of the dyno tune.
Any local guys on this board that tune that could look at yours?

Just your basic set of 243 castings. I don't think there is any work done to them outside of what Patriot does off the line.

It does seem kinda low especially for an m6. I understand it getting to you in comparison to others who spent way less on just a cam and put out similar or higher dyno #'s! Take it to the track and once you get the results there you'll feel much better.

Yeah, i may just be getting caught up in the numbers. It's just aggrevating when you have heads/cam combos similar or exactly like mine that have been proven over and over again to produce well off 400 (and i don't think i've seen a combo like this perform like mine, please post if you have)... and i'm still stuck in 3. Just one of those things i guess... sucks to be an "exception", for whatever reason I am.

Who's dyno did you use? Who tuned it?

A friend of mine dynoed at 398rwhp in his Camaro, with stock heads but same mods.
