polishing aftermarket heads worth the $
got a set of prc 2.5 5.3 heads and noticed some rough cast spots in the runners and chambers. i figure this is with all factory cast heads the prc, patriot, livernois etc. so should i get them polished? and will it help get the full potential out of the heads.

well i figure i wouldn't get a mirror finish on the intake, i still want the fuel to mix good before entering the cylinder, but see the rough cast spots smoothed down because it is rough. the exhaust ports and combustion chambers i would like a mirror finish so there's less chance of carbon build up and better exhaust flow.

If you mess with the heads you have to be really careful. It's really easy to accidentally mess the valve job or the cylinder head itself up & not even realize it. We use a very small step over on the new PRC heads so hand polishing the ports will make little to no difference IMHO.
