$5000 (help) I'm getting a loan for 5,000. I need help picking a cam.

Which cam would be best with my mods.

no smaller then a 224 224 and no bigger then a ms3 you really gotta do your home work but anything inbetween will make good power my brother made 443 RWHP 11.30 in the 1/4 mile 122 mph traps 1999 z28 with the HPE S cam and no head work so that cam gets my vote
You'll be fine with your auto and stickier tires as long as you pre-load the rear end on launches. I promise the transmission will go before the rear-end does. The stickier tires more applies to the m6 cars when they launch cause of the stress placed on the gears.
I'm with 00MaroonZ28 don't take a loan to do mods you will inevitably break something or another part will go as a result and you will be stuck with a useless car a loan payment and the need to get more money to repair the car. I put a cam on my old WS6 and 2 weeks later I needed a new clutch which I did not budget for and I had to wait a couple months to get a good clutch (since I wanted to do it just once). So a few months in the garage and $900 or so dollars later I had a great running car. But had I known I would have just save the extra money and done it all at once.

Dont invest on a gear; its going to blow anyway. Wait till it does by itself. Ask my how I know after 3rd rear end.
Get a good set of heads too, like PRC 2.5 5.3l instead of N2O. Put the kit after.

i have this cam it kicks ***..mines on a 591 lift but not that different...these cams love nitrous and forced induction..they sound awesome and have great street manners
So you borrowed $5K to have money to burn?

no that is just the start, you see here in America typically its best to have around 40-50k in credit card debit, another 25-35k in auto loans, around 350k in a mortgage that you bought in 2006 with nothing down and now have negative 50k equity...solution..toss the keys in the mail box and file

No one tells you how to spend your money. If the guy has 5K to spend somewhere. Let'em blow it wherever he wants. I would get something in the 230 range and a good set of heads to go with it, nothing stupid like afr, just a nice budget head for a little over $1K
