Cheap Motor Build?
So Im in the process of buying a used LS6 Block with Head studs for dirt
Specs:
Stock LS6 block honed out to 347 with arp head studs.
Only put about 5-6k miles on the setup.
Piston To Wall Clearance: .004"
-3.9055" cylinder bore
Main Bearing Clearance:
All Cylinder's = .0026-.0027"
Thrust Clearance = .006"
Rod Bearing Clearance:
All Cylinders = .0031-.0032"
That's all I have so far. I need to know what to look for, I'm on a budget so I really don't wanna go out and buy some AFR heads or something like that.
I was gonna use the MS3 or 4 Cam, and not sure on the head's I want.
I was gonna try to get 11 or 11.5:1 compression ratio.
I'm wanting to make 450 RWHP threw a M6......am I asking to much? Is about 300 bucks good for that block?

they where untouched bone stock heads off a 1999 z28 and the hpe s cam on 91 octane and the auto was a th400 with a 4500 stall and a 12 bolt so with the right cam you can make some good power and remember bigger is not always better i have seen ls1 hot cam cars outrun some huge cams
