How to change a fuel pump in a 99TA?

Default How to change a fuel pump in a 99TA?

like the title says i need help. any how to sites? can i do it myself? im pretty resorceful and could get it done. but i need help...
and what is the right pump? electric? mechanical? i need a quick fix b/c im selling my car, so i dont need a high flow pump... whats is the right lpm pump? like 150? 200?

help Please and thank you!

I know the easiest way to replace a fuel pump is to cut out the panel in the back behind the rear seat instead of dropping the whole rear out from the car. Im not too sure where you can find a how-to on cutting it out but Im sure there is someone on here who knows. And for the kind of pump.. I have a 500lph granatelli pump in mine but that was a lot of fab work. A walboro 250lph pump is a good pump. You can get one of those off of ebay for pretty cheap.

On the 99 and up, you do not need to drop the rearend!!!!

You still have to drop it to some extent; otherwise cut the trap door.

You can drop it enough to slide the tank out. Its not a big deal, certainly not worth cutting a hole in the car over. Cutting the trap door is the lazy way out. What next hack holes in the inner fender well to get at the number 8 plug?

i did two this weekend where i cut both trap doors, i use an electric regular skil saw, just with one of those cutting wheels thats black, its so big and fast and you can adjust it like your doing an angle cut so that way only like a 1/4 in of the blade is used.. that means you cant cut too deep and accidently cut the tank or lines, took 1 hour for both....
another tip is i got a sheet of aluminum at the hardware store and riveted 4 rivets and sealed with caulk, looked clean even though it was covered with the carpet
