Default Most Aggressive Cam Under 600 Lift?

I have a set of CNC'ed heads along with some new Comp Springs good for up to 600 lift. I was going to do a cam only setup but the car came with a set of heads and springs so I figured I might as well do it. However.... Since I didn't really plan on doing it I don't want to go to wild or spend much more money. So I want to try and use what I have.

So...I am looking for the most badass aggressive cam that is under 600 lift. I want it to sound as choppy as possible and perform well up to stock rev or around 6200rpm as thats is as far as I am going to rev it.

I would like some sound clips and vids if possible of these cams in cars with cutouts closed and open. Thanks guys. I am amazed at the help and advice on these boards...very nice crowd.

You want a huge cam and want to only turn your engine 6-6200?

I think you have a little catch-up reading to do.

^I agree, but here are some options..

Vindicator 240/244 (.605/.596 lift)
Futral 232/234 (.598/.598 lift)
TSP 233/239 (.595/.603 lift)
Torquer V.2 (same as futral above)

or a custom made cam to your specs..

he asked for the biggest cam he can get, not a huge cam that he cant get, you can try searching on the gmpp ASA cam, alot people would say its outdated, but it has a nasty torque curve, i only recomend it if u have a good exhaust and most boltons, i think lift is .525 not sure though

I say get a custom cam that has good power all the way up to about 6200 RPM's, for instance, maybe a 228/230 duration or 224/230 duration with a lift of maybe 590/590. You dont want to max the lift on the cam to 600 if thats what the max is on your springs. Maybe even get a reverse split on the lift, like a .590/.580. And as far as the LSA goes, go with a 110 or 111 LSA so that it can sound choppy. and as far as I know, the X-ER lobes are pretty aggressive so get that too.

I think I may like your idea a little better. It sounds very clean but a nice chop as well. And 595 is perfect. Here is a clip I found of this one.

XER 228/232 588/595 110 would peak pretty close to the 6200rpm limit you're looking for.. You should be able to advance it 2-4 degrees to help out with more low to midrange power as well.

Now since my springs are rated up to 600 lift....Will I be okay with a 590 to 595 lift cam? Dont want to break one and bend a valve.

well most any cam unless its tiny will peak at the same rpms (6200ish hp/4800ish tq.) with an ls6 intake. That cam you listed though will carry power to 6500-6800 pretty easily.

My suggestion, give some one reputable a call and tell them what YOU want instead of people on here telling you what you should get.

if you are wanting a a stock powerband all of these cams people listed are way to big for you.
