Default no oil pressure at idle

99 ls1 new stroker kit new bearings new cam new Doubble roller timming chain
new oil pump and oil pickup o-ring had block cleaned . 2psi oil pressure at idle
pressure goes up as rpms goup 40psi max.

sounds low . not sure what the rule of thumb is 5psi for every 1k rpm or is it 10psi for every 1k rpm .

I'd put a manual gauge on it asap and check it that way. Assuming that the motor has been rebuilt, was the rear galley plug removed and not put back in place?

checked o- ring 3times i have a feeling that it might be the rear galley plug does anbody
have a photo . this is my first ls1 rebuild. Have rebult many other motors yes i put manual gauge on

No, but you have to drop the transmission. There was another member on here that put a new motor in and didnt have it installed. I remember seeing a picture of it then.

I read somewhere the you can see if the "plug" is installed by removing the plate above the oil filter.

just got done pulling the trans. guess the rear galley plug missing in action started motor 60psi at idle 70psi at 1500rpm thank you all for the info.
