wanting forged 347 pistons
wanting forged 347 pistons what do u guys think would be a good forged piston, & what would they cost new, & what should i expect if i could find them used? thanks guys!
Check out any of the sponsors at the right. They all have great deals on some good forged pistons. I personally just bought a "forged piston upgrade kit" from Scoggin Dickey (a sponsor). It includes Speed-Pro forged pistons and pins, Speed-Pro rings and a set of ARP rod bolts for the stock rods. I am switching to SCAT rods and won't be using the bolts, but it was still cheaper than some other piston kits. Of course this is a budget build and the "other kits do have their advantages. Search around and see what others are using in a similar application to your own.
We stock Diamond & Mahle forged pistons for the stock cube engines. I should have stock bore Mahle if your trying to get away with not honing the block, but it's really a bad idea. Most pistons are 3.905" so you can have a machine shop do a quality hone for you.
