Default How big an LS6?

I know the question sounds weird, but how much more displacement can you get out of an ls6 via stroking and boring?

I own an RX7 that currently has an ls1, but I'm looking to upgrade to a larger motor in the future. I am limited to ls1 and ls6 due to the subframe mounts. To fit an ls2 would require a new subframe, which I dont want to buy unless I cannot get an ls6 at 402 ci.

TSP and some other vendors carry a 386 (383?), but I want it at 402 ci. If it is possible to make a 402 ls6, who carries it? Thanks

Aluminum or iron? We make a 418 with the LQ9. Its a 75 lb weight difference.

as far as what you are looking for the LS1 is no different than the LS6, they are the same cubes stock for stock same dimensions etc etc and would have the same issues if made that large, from what I gather if you want that many cubes you have to resleeve to stronger sleeves too handle that large bore and possibly stroke it too ( dont know absolutely sure about the bore and stroke measurements etc ), it would be best to go to an iron block or if you have the money go to a LS2 and go up from there.

whatever you have to do to the LS1 would have to be done the same to the LS6. And I would imagine it would cost nearly double to make a LS1/LS6 a 402/408 than it would a LS2 or iron block 6.0. It would be cheaper to buy the other subframe and sell yours so you can buy the one for a 6.0 block.

Not really a whole lot of weight issues unless 75+ lbs is going to break you.
In order to take a gen 3 motor (ls1/ls6) out past a 3.905 bore you will probably have to resleeve the block, or so Ive been told, which is expensive.
If you need to stay with an ls1 or 6, there really isnt much of a difference, why not just got to like 370ci? I think you can even go 382 without resleeving.

I hope you're kidding about 75lbs being an issue. Difference between a 383 and a 408 will make that up.

I am limited to ls1 and ls6 due to the subframe mounts
Are you ? Hinson ? If so, your limited to using F- body motor mounts and F-body pan, pick-up tube and dip stick. F-body accessories. Can't all of these things bolt to a L92 or LS2 ?

Yes, Hinson old style subframe. I already asked the question on v8rx7forum. I'll be the first to say that I am a noob, so I await an answer. If the answer is yes, you can get away with using an ls2 engine but with different mounts, oil pan, etc, then so be it, ls2 time it is

Also, Hinson is producing a new subframe, which will allow us to keep the stock suspension geometry, etc, etc. It really does not matter to me about stock suspension geometry. My main concern was cost factor. Having to dish out for a new subframe, ls2 engine, etc, was going to cost me more than getting a bigger ls6 that can put me in the 500hp range.

Iron block is out of the question, I just don't want it.
