I run royal purple since i got my camaro at 43000 miles. My lifters went out at 80,000 miles.... The rest of the motor was imaculate... That is when this guy who works at a machine shop informs me that royal purple tends to wear out lifters premature....yikes. I wonder how much truth there is to this... Does anyone know more?

Wouldn't mind trying the RP stuff. Have any of you guys heard of Slick50? its an oil additive, meant to stick to metal parts to reduce wear on start up. Just wondered what your views were on it. I've never tried it in the LS1, but ran it in the 3rd Gen.
