Well, around here AMSoil was 7.99/qt = 47.94 + $10 for the AMSoil filter, so $57.94 is what I am out no matter what. The reason I had to have the oil changed at belle tire was not because I didn't want to get dirty, but the fact that all that week I had finals and I needed the oil changed asap after the cam and all the crap from that to get out of the engine asap, so with little time, and $15 more, belle tire seemed worth it.

i'd pull those heads off and check everything. i wouldnt take any chances with hurting my motor. one day of work is alot better then a month of getting a motor and doing the swap. just my 2 cents

Well, why are you guys suggesting that I check the valves? The inner spring on the dual held the valve up and it never hit the piston, so how would the valve bend other than that?

Because;

a) You said that oyu didnt have compression. Staticly, the inner spring does hold the valve up. So therefor the air is going somewhere it shouldnt.

b) The inner spring can hold the valve up, but I dont think its good for much rpm. I dont know the exact #, but I'd say that you could easily bend a valve after the outer spring breaks, just from <3000 rpm driving.

The best way to tell is to take the rockers off that side and lay a straight edge along the top of the valve stems. if the valve with the broken valvespring is lower than the rest, its pretty bent. If you can find no other good reason for a loss of compression and the leakdown fails, that also points to a bent valve.

As I said in a much earlier post, I think the head is coming off

Ok, when I get a chance, I will pull the rockers and put a strait edge there, and see what the deal is. I think with the rockers not clearing, it's not letting the valve close all the way, esp. with the inner spring, which would cause a compression loss.
