The 241s came on some LATE 2000 engines. I have a set as well on my 2000 engine. If your engine came installed with 241s then you also have upgraded rod bolts. Have a GM service person run your vin for your service history. I'm sure there are people on here that can do it. The difference between 853s and 241s are the casting methods. The 853s used a sand casting method which leaves the runners in the heads rougher where as the 241s used a different material which resulted in smoother ports. It's not a huge difference, maybe 5-10hp.

pitbull14218,

Just incase in the future if you are looking at ported heads. TEA does a stage 1
port job that flows nice numbers thru the whole rpm band, and they cost $995.00
they use the GM valves which proven to be very good. And the intake runners wont be
as large as a Patriot LS6 ported head meaning you'll make killer lower end torque and with the right cam the heads will pull as high as you need. Just wanted to help you anyway i can. I was thinking about selling my never used D1SC kit get get a set of heads like these and a cam that Predator-Z spec'd for me my setup would be nasty as hell Good luck with your setup.

stock for stock i don't believe there is a difference. after you port them...again, no difference. so basically i don't think there is a difference at all between the heads.

my 99 ta with junk 853 heads and junk manifolds ran ok at the track. same goes for the bolt-on 00 camaro i had with 853 heads..
