Ahh, good info. I was talking to MTI once about doing a 4.25" stroke. I guess that's how we'll have to do it.

now correct me if i'm wrong but won't a smaller length rod make same power but at a lower RPM?? and also what is stock ls1 rod length??

My ARE 436 (4.125s x 4.100b)uses a 6.2" Lunati Pro-mod Rod. The engine works great and there really is no need to rev past 6500rpm with it as it peaks at about 6200rpm. I am sure with different cam selection we could have made it make power higher, but that wasnt what I was after.
I do have some oil consumption but it isnt that bad. I would say a quart every 300-400 miles of city driving. On the highway, or racing, it barely burns any! It is just the stop and go stuff that seems to consume the oil. The PCV system could have something to do with it as well.
For the torque this thing makes, I will put with the oil consumption!

Unless you are running a tall deck motor the packaging is to tight. Most of the problem comes from the reluctor ring at the rear of the crank and piston interference. At least that is what I have been told by callies and je in which I'm a wholesale distributor for both....
